Acrylic Acid
What Acrylic Acid is & what it does
Acrylic Acid/Acrylamidomethyl Propane Sulfonic Acid Copolymer is a synthetic polymer built from acrylic acid and AMPS monomers. In skincare and sunscreen formulas it acts as a thickener and stabilizer, gelling the water phase and helping keep emulsions uniform and pleasant to apply. As an AMPS-type polymer it tolerates electrolytes and acidic conditions better than some other thickeners, which makes it useful in more demanding formulas.
