In a formula it helps lock the barrier's lipid layers together, which strengthens the skin's defense against moisture loss and outside irritants. In a sunscreen it supports a smoother, more comfortable surface and is often added to products aimed at dry or barrier-stressed skin.

Is Ceramide EOP safe?

Yes. Ceramides are skin-identical lipids, meaning they match components the skin already makes, so they are very well tolerated. Ceramide EOP works on the surface to reinforce the barrier and is suitable for sensitive and reactive skin. Reactions are rare at cosmetic levels.

Does Ceramide EOP clog pores?

Generally no. It is used in tiny amounts and is a barrier-supporting lipid rather than a heavy pore-filling oil, so it is considered non-comedogenic.
