Decanal

What Decanal is & what it does

Decanal is a naturally occurring aldehyde with a citrus-orange, waxy odor, found in citrus peels and many essential oils. In cosmetics it is used chiefly as a fragrance ingredient to lend a fresh, peel-like top note. Like other fragrance aldehydes it is used at very low levels. Fragrance components can be sensitizing for some people, so it is typically dosed sparingly.
