Dimethoxydiphenylsilane

What Dimethoxydiphenylsilane is & what it does

This is a silicone-based crosspolymer that links diphenyl and caprylyl silane units into a flexible network. It is commonly used as a film former and surface modifier, often to coat pigments or mineral UV filters so they disperse smoothly and resist water. The diphenyl portion lends a soft, velvety slip and can boost the clarity and feel of the film. It does not absorb UV itself but is frequently paired with mineral filters in sunscreens.
