What Silica Caprylyl Silylate is & what it does

Silica Caprylyl Silylate is a surface-treated silica, fine silica particles coated with a caprylyl silane to make them hydrophobic and easier to disperse in oils and silicones. In a formula it generally works as a texturizing and anti-caking agent, giving a smooth, soft-focus, mattifying feel and helping absorb excess oil.
