Succinate
What Succinate is & what it does
Polyglyceryl-6 Palmitate/Succinate is a polyglycerol-based ester used as a nonionic emulsifier and surfactant. Its job in a formula is to bind oil and water into a stable, uniform emulsion and to improve texture, making creams and lotions smooth and easy to spread. Polyglyceryl esters are popular as gentle, plant-derivable alternatives to older emulsifiers. It is generally considered a mild, well-tolerated emulsifying ingredient.
